Deploying, undeploying, and testing Web services
After you develop a Web service, with one click you can deploy it to a Web server. The workbench deploys Web services as Java™ Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) Web Archive (WAR) files. You can also simply generate deployable files or artifacts for DataPower® and deploy them yourself. You can use the Web Services Explorer or the Data Web Service Test Client to test your Web service after it has been deployed.
- Deploying Web services through the workbench
You can use the workbench to deploy Web services to Web servers.- Auto-deployment of Web services
You can redeploy Web services automatically after you make changes to them. You can also undeploy them automatically when you delete them from your data development projects.- Undeploying Web services through the workbench
You can use the workbench to undeploy Web services when you no longer need them on a Web server that is listed in theServers view.
- Generating deployable files to transfer manually to Web servers
To deploy a Web service to a Web server that is not listed in theServers view in your workspace, you generate deployable files and transfer them to the Web server.
- Testing Web services
There are two methods that are available in the workbench for testing Web services. You can use the Data Web Services Test Client, or you can use the WSDL Explorer. The WSDL Explorer provides more limited test capability, and the Data Web Services Test Client is recommended.
