The following tables contain lists of users that need to be created prior to or are created during the Typical and Custom installations:

User Description Default Permissions When created Installation User when logging on to perform the Managing Server installation Administrator
- Belong to the Administrators group
- Must have the privileges: Act as part of the Operating System and Log on as a Service
Preinstallation procedure or can be the default (Administrator). See Create the installation user Product User used for:
- Logging into and using the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server
- Logging into and using the WAS administrative console
- The DB2 Administration Server account and DB2 Instance account
Administrator
- Belong to the Administrators group
- Must have the privileges: Act as part of the Operating System and Log on as a Service
Preinstallation procedure or can be the default (Administrator). See Typical installation: creating the user for the product. DB2 Administration Server User for DB2 Administration Server account db2admin If db2admin user exists on your system, you cannot perform a Typical installation. You must perform a Custom installation.

- Debug programs
- Create token object
- Lock pages in memory
- Log on as a service
- Increase quotas
- Replace a process level token
