Create and augmenting IBM BPM for z/OS profiles
To set up stand-alone servers or ND environments for IBM BPM for z/OS , create WebSphere Application Server for z/OS profiles and then augment the profiles with IBM BPM for z/OS functions.
Creating and augmenting a profile for a stand-alone server, dmgr, or managed node is a multiphase process that includes the following steps:
- Collate customization information for the profile, and then create and process a customization definition. A customization definition contains the information that you require to customize a profile, and consists of the following files:
- A customization response file, which defines the customization settings for both WebSphere Application Server and IBM BPM
- A .html file, which provides customization instructions for creating and augmenting the profile with your specified customization settings
- Other configuration files, which are used by zPMT
To create a customization definition, either use the z/OS Profile Management Tool (zPMT) in the WebSphere Customization Toolbox, or use the configuration planning spreadsheet, which is supplied as a supplementary artifact.
To process a customization definition, you can use either zPMT or the zpmt.sh script.
- Set up the configuration file system to hold the runtime data for the profile, and then create the WebSphere Application Server default profile in the file system.
- Augment the WebSphere Application Server profile.
- Collating customization information for configuring your environment
After you determine your topology and install IBM BPM for z/OS, collect the information that is required to configure the application-serving environment. As part of the configuration, you must specify customization values for WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and IBM BPM for z/OS.- Installing the WebSphere Customization Toolbox
You require WebSphere Customization Toolbox V8.5 to install the required product extension file for IBM BPM, and to create the response files and customized JCL jobs that can be used to create and augment the profile.
- Create and processing customization definitions for profiles
You can use a stacked configuration method to define the customization settings for the type of profile to create. With this method, all the product configurations for WebSphere Application Server and IBM BPM are specified in a customization definition, and processed collectively.
- Set up the configuration file system and creating a profile
After you create and process a customization definition for the required profile, you can create the WebSphere Application Server configuration file system, define your database configuration, and create the default profile in the configuration file system.- Augmenting stand-alone and ND profiles
After creating the WebSphere Application Server profile, you must augment the application server, dmgr, or empty node to add support for IBM BPM for z/OS functions.
