Create and processing customization definitions for profiles
You can use a stacked configuration method to define the customization settings for the type of profile to create. With this method, all the product configurations for WebSphere Application Server and IBM BPM are specified in a customization definition, and processed collectively.
The combined configuration sequence results in a single set of instructions and a single set of JCL jobs for creating a fully customized IBM BPM stand-alone server, dmgr, or empty managed node.
You require a Windows or Linux workstation to create customization definitions, but can process customization definitions on Windows, Linux, or the z/OS system. You can use either the z/OS Profile Management Tool (zPMT) or the zpmt.sh script as follows:
- zPMT is a component of the WebSphere Customization Toolbox and runs on Windows or Linux workstations. You can use the zPMT GUI to create a customization definition that specifies the configuration values for WebSphere Application Server and IBM BPM. You can also use zPMT to process the customization definition in order to generate and upload customized jobs and other files to the target z/OS system.
- The zpmt.sh script is available in your product file system, and runs under z/OS rather than on a workstation. If you have an existing customization response file that specifies the configuration values for WebSphere Application Server and IBM BPM, you can run the zpmt.sh script directly from the z/OS system to create the same jobs and files as zPMT. You will find this script most useful after you have completed several zPMT customizations.
Both zPMT and the zpmt.sh script are intended for use by a system programmer or administrator who is familiar with the z/OS target system on which the resulting IBM BPM cells and nodes will run.
- Create and processing customization definitions using zPMT
From a Linux or Windows workstation, you can use the z/OS Profile Management Tool (zPMT) to generate JCL batch jobs and other files that can be used to create and augment stand-alone server, dmgr, and empty managed node profiles.- Create and processing customization definitions using the zpmt.sh script
From a z/OS system, you can use the zpmt.sh script to generate JCL batch jobs and other files that can be used to create and augment stand-alone server, dmgr, and empty managed node profiles.
