Building Process Portal spaces using the Human Task Management templates
The Human Task Management templates contain widgets that are wired and configured for common user interaction patterns, for example, checking the status of an order, or approving a travel request.
You can use these templates to create business spaces for managing and participating in processes.
Before you begin this task, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:
- You have enabled the processes and tasks for use in a Process Portal space.
- You have configured the Representational State Transfer (REST) services required by Business Space so that your user groups can access the processes and tasks that they need:
- Federated REST services. Use these services if your user groups participate in both business process definitions (BPDs) and Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) process and human tasks, or they use these resources on multiple systems.
- Business process definition engine REST services. Use these services if your user groups participate only in BPDs.
- Business Process Choreographer REST services. Use these services if your user groups participate only in BPEL processes and human tasks.
Procedure
- Identify the common user interactions that your business users perform when they participate in business processes.
- Review the user interaction patterns supported by the Human Task Management widgets.
- Create a space using the appropriate template.
- User-interaction patterns for business process management
The user interactions that your users perform depend on their individual roles and responsibilities. User interaction patterns describe typical ways in which business users interact with business processes to achieve their business goals. You can use patterns to identify the interactions that are relevant for the users of your business spaces.- Customize the content shown in the Human Task Management widgets
The content that is shown in the widgets is provided by a query. Queries are known as lists in the widget configuration. You can configure widgets in a Process Portal space to use different lists so that they contain the content that is needed by the users of the space.
