Comparing task group changes with approved content

All changes that are made to business objects within a task group are listed in the History pane as either create, modify, or delete history records. Comparing a modified business object with the approved content displays both versions of the object side by side for quick comparison.


Before beginning

Ensure that we are logged in to the Workspace Management tool as one of the following roles:

Note: We can compare a modified business object with approved content only if the business object exists in approved content.We cannot compare task group changes with approved content when the task group is in one of the following approved or canceled states:

To view the list of change history records for task groups in these states, an administrator must configure the Workspace Management tool. See Enable the change history for approved and canceled task groups.


Procedure

  1. Open the Workspace Management tool.

  2. Find and open the task group for which we want to view the history.

  3. Click the History tab.

    Every change associated with the task group is listed as history record in the history table.

  4. Click the history record containing the modified business object to which we want to compare with the approved version.

  5. Click Compare with approved content. Alternatively, right-click the history record and click Compare with approved content or click Edit > Compare with approved content. The modified business object is displayed in the left pane, while the approved content is displayed in the right pane.

    Note: If no record is displayed in the right pane, it means that the business object we are trying to compare does not exist in approved content.
