Specifying a view column for awareness and chat in the Lotus Notes View portlet

The Lotus Notes View portlet can display awareness in any view that displays user names as data, but specify the column containing the data that should show the awareness features (person links).

1. In the title bar, select Configure from the drop-down menu. Note: It is recommended that you, as an administrator, select Configure rather than Edit Shared Settings to specify any changes to views or view columns in this portlet. For more information on the differences in behavior of these commands as applied to Lotus Notes views, see the section on considerations for adding views in the topic on the Lotus Notes View portlet. .
2. Under Columns to display (and widths), click Add.
3. Under View Title, enter a title, for example "Sales Discussion - By Author."
4. Under Server, specify the server name where the mail file is located (for example, acme.sales.com). Select the check box next to the Server section.
5. Under Database filename, select the mail file path, for example, "mail," and then select the name of the source Lotus Notes database, for example, acme_sales_discussion.nsf. Select the check box next to the Database filename section.
6. Under View, select the view name ("By Author") that corresponds to the view you want to show (the view represented by the View Title entered above).
7. Select Next.
8. Select a column that contains names from the Column for showing people awareness list.
9. Click Done, then Save.
