Installing the IBM MQ server silently on Linux
We can carry out a non-interactive installation of the IBM MQ server. A non-interactive installation is also known as a silent, or unattended installation.
About this task
To install IBM MQ silently, accept the IBM MQ license in non-interactive mode and then follow the interactive installation procedure.
Procedure
- Log in as root, or switch to the superuser by using the su command.
- For Long Term Support before Version 9.2.0 and Continuous Delivery before Version 9.1.5, we must accept the terms of the license agreement before we can proceed with the installation. To do this run the mqlicense.sh script:
./mqlicense.shThe license agreement is displayed in a language appropriate to the environment and you are prompted to accept or decline the terms of the license.
If possible, mqlicense.sh opens an X-window to display the license.
If you need the license to be presented as text in the current shell, which can be read by a screen reader, type the following command, ./mqlicense.sh -text_only
- From Version 9.2.0, you have the option of accepting the license before or after installing the product. See License acceptance on IBM MQ for Linux for more information.
- Follow the procedure detailed in Installing IBM MQ server on Linux using rpm.
