New IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS, Value Unit Edition features

IBM MQ Version 9.0.5 delivers the following new features that are available with IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS®, Value Unit Edition entitlement.


Advanced Message Security on JMS for z/OS queue managers

Version 9.0.5 adds AMS support to a IBM MQ classes for JMS or IBM MQ classes for Java application, running on z/OS, using a client connection to a z/OS queue manager, licensed as IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS, Value Unit Edition.

AMS security policy information is available on MQOPEN, instead of requiring a separate query

When clients use Advanced Message Security (AMS), they can access the AMS security policy information for a given queue using MQOPEN, instead of having to use a separate query. This improves performance for queues that are not protected by AMS, on a queue manager that is AMS enabled.
