Install assets using developer tools
If we have developer tools installed, we can install feature assets, open source integration assets, product sample assets, runtime assets, add-on assets, and config snippet assets from the Liberty Repository.
Developer tools for WebSphere Application Server, such as WebSphere Developer Tools for Eclipse, v8.5.5, provide a graphical user interface we can leverage to install Liberty Repository assets. This task shows you how to install assets using WebSphere Developer Tools, v8.5.5.2 and later versions.
- Review the assets on the Downloads page on WASdev.net.
We can use search and filters to narrow the search results. Assets that we can install using WebSphere Developer Tools are included on the site, along with assets that we can download by other methods.
- Optional: Install assets from the Servers view.
If we create a Liberty profile server and a Liberty runtime environment, either from an archive or from the Liberty repository, we can install the following assets on the new runtime environment in the Servers view:
- Feature assets
- Open source integration assets
- Product runtime environment assets
- Product sample assets
- Add-on assets
We can install configuration snippet assets after creating a Liberty profile server.
See Create a Liberty profile server using developer tools.
- Optional: Install assets from the Runtime Explorer view.
In the Runtime Explorer view, we can install the following assets when we create a runtime environment or when we create a server in a runtime environment:
- Feature assets
- Open source integration assets
- Product sample assets
- Add-on assets
See the Explore the runtime environment using developer tools topic.
