The following tables display lists of users that need to be created prior to or are created during the Typical and Custom installations:

DB2 Administration Server User for DB2 Administration Server account db2admin If db2admin user exists on your system, you cannot perform a Typical installation. You must perform a Custom installation.
Belongs to the sys group Automatically created by the installer during the installation DB2 Instance DB2 instance owner db2inst1 If db2inst1 user exists on your system, you cannot perform a Typical installation. You must perform a Custom installation.
Belongs to the sys group Automatically created by the installer during the installation DB2 Fenced User for DB2 Fenced account db2fenc1 If db2fenc1 user exists on your system, you cannot perform a Typical installation. You must perform a Custom installation.

If your server is part of a Network Information Service (NIS) environment, during the embedded IBM DB2 installation, you will not be able to create new DB2 user accounts from the installer. You must create users for the DB2 Administration Server, DB2 Fenced, and DB2 Instance accounts before you begin the installation. See Network Information Service environment: creating the DB2 account users. If your server is part of an NIS environment, perform a Custom or silent installation. Typical installations are not supported for NIS environments.

WAS User used to start the WebSphere Windows service and to connect to IBM WebSphere root root privileges
- Embedded WAS: created during the installation or can be the default (root)

User Interface (Optional) User used for logging into and using the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server root root privileges Preinstallation procedure or can be the default (root).
