IBM Tivoli Monitoring, Version 6.3 Fix Pack 2

Switching to a different Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server database

You can change to a different RDBMS after you have installed the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server.

  1. Bring up the Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services main screen, and right-click the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server entry.

  2. From the pop-up menu, select Advanced → Utilities → Build TEPS Database.

    • If the only RDBMSes installed on this computer are DB2 Database for Linux, UNIX, and Windows and the portal server's embedded Derby database, select the appropriate database manager, as shown in Figure 2.

Figure 2. The Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services select the new portal server database window. The only available database managers are DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows and Derby.

    • If this computer is running both DB2 Database for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, Microsoft SQL Server, and embedded Derby, select the appropriate database manager, as shown in Figure 3.

Figure 3. The Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services select the new portal server database window. The available database managers are DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, SQL Server, and Derby.

Changing to a different database does not migrate the portal server data stored in it.

  3. Continue with the database configuration, as explained in step 12 under Installation procedure.
