Migrate V6.1.x on a V6.1 application server
When you migrate from WebSphere Portal V6.1.x on IBM WAS V6.1, you can migrate either a standalone, single server or a clustered deployment with nodes distributed across multiple servers. New tools and enhanced capabilities provide a more streamlined experience while minimizing required downtime.
The migration process varies slightly depending on whether the earlier, source portal server uses IBM WAS V6.1 or V7.
Notes:
- When installing the new version of WebSphere Portal, use the same ID and access level that was used to install the earlier portal.
- Use the new defaults.isBinaryInstall="true" parameter to install only the binary code. This significantly reduces the installation time that is required during migration and helps to avoid potential conflicts. This option cannot be used when migrating from v6.0.1.x to V7.0.
- When running migration commands, execute only one command at a time.
