Referencing elements
You use IBM Lotus WCM tags to reference elements within presentation templates.
Elements can be referenced from sites, site areas, content items and components:
The tag you use will depend on the type and location of the element being referenced.
- Referencing Elements
The Element tag is used to reference an element within a presentation template or element design.- Referencing a Federated content element
The federated content element tag is used to reference a federated content element within a presentation template or element design.- Referencing Components
The Component tag is used to reference the content of a component within a presentation template or element design.- Referencing a Federated content component
The federated content component tag is used to reference a federated content component.- Referencing Personalization content
The "AttributeResource" tag is used as a placeholder to display attributes from a content spot or rule within a Personalization element design. It cannot be used in a presentation template or other element types.- Use an alternate design tag
You use an alternate design tag to display a different component based on the type of item that a navigator or menu is rendering.- Use start and end attributes
The start and end attributes are used to wrap the data returned by an WCM tag within other tags, such as HTML. These attributes are not mandatory.- Set parameters to format dates
These parameters are used to set the format of dates.- Note on formatting numbers
