Federated content element
A federated content element stores a reference to federated content such as IBM Content Manager content.
A federated content element can:
- Display federated content within a presentation template, component design or element design.
- Display a link to federated content within a presentation template, component design or element design.
- Display attributes of federated content within a presentation template component design or element design.
To create a federated content element, you can either add a federated content element to an authoring template, site, site area or content item, or create a component reference component.
WCM can not create or edit federated content. Refer to the documentation of your federated content source for information on creating and editing federated content.
To use this feature configure a property extension database to store user-specific data. See Configure security for further information.
- Federated content data source configuration
To use the federated content component, first configure your WCM Server to link to a federated data source. Only one federated data source can be used per Web content server.- Use a federated content element
When using a federated content element search a set of federated content and then select the content you would like to reference within the element.
