Portal, V6.1
Create pages
Read about the different tasks associated with the Manage Pages portlet. The Manage Pages portlet allows you to perform the following tasks:
- Create, reorder, delete, and edit the properties of pages, labels, and
URLs- Reorder pages, labels, and URLs
- Assign access to pages, labels, and URLs
- Move pages to a new location in the portal hierarchy
Both administrators and users with appropriate access can create and delete pages. Users can only delete the pages they create or the pages for which they have at least Manager access.
- Pages, shared pages, and derived pages
Understanding the behavior and difference between shared pages and derived pages helps you manage pages and create the right type of page for your needs.- Creating pages
A page displays content, such as portlets and other pages, in a single area. By creating pages, you can organize your information and add new navigational elements to the site.- Creating shared pages
Use the Manage Pages portlet to set up the original page to be shared.- Creating derived pages
A page can be set to reference an existing page only during page creation.
