Preinstall configuration for authentication with an external user registry
ISIM supports use of an external user registry for authentication. We must configure the registry before installing the product.
Any user registry that can be configured as Application Server user realm can be used as an authentication user registry for IBM Security Identity Manager. Application Server supports four types of user realms: federated repositories, local operating system, Stand-alone LDAP registry, and custom LDAP registry. The example configuration described in this documentation uses a stand-alone LDAP user registry. For more information about Application Server user realms, see the Application Server section in the IBM Knowledge Center.
To use an external user registry as an authentication registry for IBM Security Identity Manager, complete the following tasks.
