Install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement with the console interface
Overview
A console interface is available for both local and remote installation of WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement. To install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement using the console interface, follow the instructions below.
If you have not already done so, make sure the iSeries system meets all prerequisites for this installation.
Install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement locally with the console interface
To install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement locally from the iSeries system:
- If the WAS subsystem is running, end it by entering the appropriate command from an OS/400 command prompt:
WAS Base Edition: ENDSBS SBS(QEJBAS5)
WAS Network Deployment: ENDSBS SBS(QEJBASND5)- Install the latest WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement PTFs.
- Insert the WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement CD into the CD-ROM drive of the iSeries system.
- Open a command prompt and start the Qshell Interpreter by entering the following:
STRQSH- Change to the root directory of the WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement CD by entering the following:
cd /qopt/<cd_root>where cd_root is the root directory of the WebSphere Portal Setup CD.
- Enter the following:
install.sh- Select the language for the install and press Enter.
Note that this could take 5 minutes or more to display.
- The WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement welcome screen should appear. Select Next and press Enter.
- Review the license agreement. Select I accept the terms of the licensing agreement and press Enter.
- Select which version of WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement to install and press Enter.
Select WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement to upgrade WAS Base Edition. Select WAS ND Extensions if you wish to upgrade WAS Network Deployment Edition.
- View the install summary information. Select Next and press Enter.
- When WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement finishes installing, the installation program will display a confirmation panel. Select Finish and press Enter.
Install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement remotely with the console interface
To install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement remotely from a Windows workstation connected to the iSeries system:
- If the WAS subsystem is running, end it by entering the appropriate command from an OS/400 command prompt:
WAS Base Edition: ENDSBS SBS(QEJBAS5)
WAS Network Deployment: ENDSBS SBS(QEJBASND5)- Insert the WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement CD into the CD-ROM drive of a Windows workstation connected to the iSeries system.
- Open a command prompt and change to the root directory of the WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement CD. For example, to change from the C:\ drive to the CD root directory on drive E:/, you would enter the following:
cd /D E:/<cd_root>where cd_root is the root directory of the WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement CD. Note that the /D command is only necessary when changing from one drive to another.
- Enter the following:
install400.bat <ISERIES_SYSTEM> <USER_ID> <PASSWORD> -consolewhere ISERIES_SYSTEM is the name of the iSeries system on which you are installing WebSphere Portal, and USER_ID and PASSWORD are the user ID and password you use to log on to that system.
- Select the language for the install and press Enter.
- The WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement welcome screen should appear. Select Next and press Enter.
- Review the license agreement. Select I accept the terms of the licensing agreement and press Enter.
- Select which version of WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement to install and press Enter.
Select WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement to upgrade WAS Base Edition. Select WAS ND Extensions if you wish to upgrade WAS Network Deployment Edition.
- View the install summary information. Select Next and press Enter.
- When WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement finishes installing, the installation program will display a confirmation panel. Select Finish and press Enter.
- Install the latest WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement PTFs.
