About WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement
Overview
WebSphere Portal v5.0.x for iSeries requires functionality that is not available with standard versions of WAS on the iSeries. To add this functionality, install WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement.
Depending on the installation scenario you use, you might also need to manually create a WAS instance for use with WebSphere Portal, as pre-existing WAS instances do not include the necessary functionality.
Software required for installing WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement
Before installing WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement, ensure that you have the following software installed on the iSeries server.
In addition to these requirements, the user installing WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement must have *ALLOBJ authority.

Additional requirements for WAS Network Deployment
When installing WAS V5.0 Enterprise Enablement on WAS Network Deployment, the following software is required in addition to the software listed above:
- 5733WS5 (Option 5) WAS - Network Deployment
- SF99246 WebSphere (5733WS5) group PTF (WAS 502/ND)
Note that additional setup is required to configure WebSphere Portal for use with WAS Network Deployment.
