Sametime Contact List Version 5.02


The Sametime Contact List Version 5.02 portlet displays an inline list of people that the user has compiled and with whom the user wants to chat online or include in online meetings. This portlet can be integrated with People Finder as part of the Collaboration Center, or deployed independently.

Use the Sametime Contact List portlet

The Sametime Contact List portlet displays the user's contact list from a Sametime server that is set up to work with WebSphere Portal.

 

Portlet security

Users must have the appropriate access to the Sametime server that has been set up for use with Lotus Collaborative Components (LCC). LCC logs the user into Sametime, so a user does not have to enter a name and password.

By default, the LTPA token generated from WebSphere Portal is used to log the user into Sametime. As portal administrator, you can change this behavior by modifying the useLTPAToken flag in the CSEnvironment.properties file.

 

Test assumptions

The Sametime Contact List portlet has been tested on and is compatible with all supported WebSphere Portal platforms, as listed in Supported hardware and software .

 

Set up the Sametime Contact List portlet

Before you install Sametime Contact List, make sure your WebSphere Portal environment meets the following client and server requirements.

Client requirements

This portlet supports browsers and devices capable of rendering HTML markup. The following table provides detailed information.

Server requirements

The Sametime Contact List portlet requires WebSphere Portal Version 5.0 or 5.0.2.

The Sametime Contact List portlet displays information from a Sametime 3.0 or 3.1 (3.1 requires WebSphere Portal 5.02) server that is set up to work with the portal. As portal administrator, you specify the Sametime server during the installation of Lotus Collaborative Components.

Note As portal administrator, you are also responsible for restarting the Sametime server and then the portal server if users report seeing the following error in the Sametime Contact List portlet:

 class="help">Sametime is either not enabled in the portal, or the Sametime server is unavailable
