Configure an HTTP server instance

An HTTP server instance is not required to install WAS. However, it is recommended to support requests for servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSP) resources managed by WAS.

Notes:

1. The IBM HTTP Server (original) is not supported for WAS V5.0. This topic discusses how to configure HTTP Servers native to the iSeries server.
2. You are able to configure remote HTTP Servers residing on other supported platforms which route requests to WAS running on the iSeries server. For more information, see the Remote HTTP topic in Administration.

Select the HTTP Server you want to use to serve requests to WAS:

• Configure IBM HTTP Server for iSeries (powered by Apache) instance

  For V5R1 or V5R2

• Configure Lotus Domino Web server instance

  For V5R1 or V5R2
