Installation

The installation documentation describes the steps that you need to follow to install the product and verify the installation. The installation process is divided into these basic steps:

  1. Prepare for the installation. In this step, you plan for the installation, install product prerequisites, obtain the product.
  2. Install the product. In this step, you install the product and the most recent PTFs on your iSeries server. You can also install additional management and application development tools on a workstation platform.
  3. Configure the product and your iSeries server. In this step, you configure the product, and configure your iSeries server to run the product.
  4. Start the WAS environment. In this step, you start the product subsystem, the default application server instance, and your HTTP server instance.
  5. Verify the installation. In this step, you run a sample application to verify that the installation was successful.
