iSeries Access for Windows: Installation and setup

To use iSeries™ Access for Windows^®, it needs to be installed and configured on both the System i™ platform and the PC.

This topic assumes that the system administrator will install and configure the System i platform, while the user will install iSeries Access for Windows on the PC.

License information for iSeries Access for Windows
IBM eServer iSeries Access for Windows is a licensed program. Some components require an iSeries Access Family (5722-XW1) license before you can use them. All components are installed with the iSeries Access for Windows program.
Setting up the system for iSeries Access for Windows
To use iSeries Access for Windows, install and configure software on both the system and the PC.
Setting up the PC
After iSeries Access for Windows is installed and configured on i5/OS^®, you need to install and configure iSeries Access for Windows on your PC.
