What's new for V5R4

 

There is new and changed installation and set up information for this release of iSeries™ Access for Windows^®.

New iSeries Access for Windows installation features include:

• Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) support

  • SSL is available for 64-bit applications on personal computers powered by the Intel^® Itanium^® (Intel 64-bit) Processor Family.

  • 128-bit SSL Client Encryption is now shipped with the iSeries Access for Windows (XE1) product.

• A 64-bit AFP™ Printer Driver for use on 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems, running the Intel Itanium (Intel 64-bit) Processor Family of personal computers is supported.

• Add-ins are no longer supported, beginning with V5R4.

iSeries Access for Windows V5R4 does not install on the Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows NT^® operating systems.
