Configure a delivery server
A delivery server is used to display Web content to end-users either using a rendering portlet, the IBM® Workplace Web Content Management servlet, or pre-rendered HTML files.
If delivering Web content via WebSphere Portal Express, :
If delivering Web content via the Web Content Management servlet, :
- Install and configure at least one rendering portlet.
- Configure a caching strategy.
- Create a syndication relationship with either an authoring or delivery server.
If delivering Web content via the pre-rendered HTML files, :
- Configure a caching strategy.
- Create a syndication relationship with either an authoring or delivery server.
- Configure the Web Content Management pre-rendering feature.
- Configure either Web Content Management or a HTTP server to display the pre-rendered HTML files.

There are several different ways you can choose to deliver IBM Workplace Web Content Management content to users, including rendering portlets, a specialized servlet, and pre-rendered sites.- Displaying content in a rendering portlet
Rendering portlets are used to display IBM Workplace Web Content Management content and components within a portal page.- Accessing Web content via a servlet
Users can access content displayed via the Web Content Management servlet by connecting to a URL.- Pre-rendered sites
You can pre-render a complete IBM Workplace Web Content Management site into HTML and save it to disk. The pre-rendered site can then be used as your live site and displayed to end users using either Web Content Management or a Web server.- Caching options
Both IBM Workplace Web Content Management generated Web pages and content from external data sources can be cached by the Web Content Management application. If utilized correctly, Web Content Management caching can dramatically increase the performance of a site.
