(Enterprise)Catalog filter uploads
We can upload catalog filter data using the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool. For example, if your company maintains catalog filter data in a spreadsheet, we can upload the data from the spreadsheet to the WebSphere Commerce database. The Catalog Filter Upload feature uses the Data Load utility, but it provides a user interface that makes the upload process easier. In the Management Center, we can load the catalog filter data from a CSV (comma-separated value) file or a compressed file to the WebSphere Commerce database. We can also use the Catalog Filter Upload feature to delete catalog filter data from the database. Use the Catalog Filter Upload to load:
- A CSV file.
- An XML formatted file.
- One or more CSV or XML files in a compressed (.zip) file.
- Multiple language CSV or XML files in a compressed (.zip) file. We must make sure all the CSV files use the same file encoding.
Known limitations of the Catalog Filter Upload feature
We cannot upload a CSV file to Management Center by using the Mozilla Firefox browser with a self-signed SSL certificate.
Other ways of uploading catalog filter data
We can use the Data Load utility rather than the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool. The Data Load utility is recommended for large amounts of data, for example, when loading your initial catalog filters to the store.
- File format for uploading catalog filter data
The load file that we use to upload catalog filters must follow a specific format so that the data loads correctly into the WebSphere Commerce database. A sample CSV file is provided.- Creating catalog filter data in CSV format
In a spreadsheet editor, we can create the catalog filter data to upload in CSV format. The easiest way to create this data is to download a sample CSV file to use as a starting point.- Uploading catalog filter data
Use the Catalog Filter Upload feature in Management Center to upload catalog filter data in your CSV file or compressed file (.zip) into the database.
