Changing a defining attribute value
Procedure
- Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
- Open the Catalog Entry Search page:
- Click Merchandise > Find Catalog Entries
- Click Products > Find Catalog Entries
- Use one of the following methods to change the attribute value:
- Change SKU notebook
- Find the product containing the SKU to change.
- Select a field in the product row containing the SKU to change, and from the Actions menu, click Show SKUs.
- Select a field in the SKU row that to change, and from the Actions menu, click Change SKU. The Change SKU notebook opens.
- From the left navigation frame, click Attributes. The Attributes page displays.
- To change the SKU attributes, use the list for each attribute type to select a new value.
- Click OK to save the changes and close the notebook.
- Product Management dynamic table:
- Find the product.
- Select a field in the product row, and from the Actions menu, click Defining Attributes. A list of available defining attributes for the product displays.
- Create a new defining attribute or select an existing one by selecting the check box to the left of the attribute to work with and click Change.
- In the lower half of the New or Change Attribute page, click Change Value. Change the following information, if applicable:
- In the Value field, type a value which corresponds to the attribute value name. For example, if the name of the attribute value is color, then type the name of a color, such as yellow or red.
- In the Image (pathname), type the full image path to the attribute value image.
- Click Change.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each attribute value to change.
- The New or Change Attribute page displays the updated table containing the attribute value's Reference Value in the store's default language, the Value in the selected language, the Image (pathname), and the Sequence number for each attribute value. Click OK to save the changes to the attribute value.
Results
- To hide the attribute values, click the icon next to the attribute name. When the attribute values are hidden, the icon changes to . Click the icon again to display the attribute values.
- If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator might need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
