Price mechanisms

WebSphere Commerce supports two pricing mechanisms for auctions: discriminative and non-discriminative.

When more than one product is available in an auction, the auction may have multiple winners with different winning bid values. For non-discriminative pricing, all winners are required to pay the price paid by the winner with the lowest winning bid. For discriminative pricing, auction winners are required to pay their exact bid amounts. Note that pricing mechanisms take effect when multiple items are available for auction or the auction quantity is not the same as the minimum bid quantity.

Either discriminative or non-discriminative pricing mechanisms must be associated with each Open Cry or Sealed Bid auction.
