Respond to RFQ product requests

You can work with price adjustments for products based on a percentage markdown, or a fixed (specific) change in the price.

Procedure

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Initiate the RFQ response creation process and from the Percentage Pricing on Products or Fixed Pricing on Products page, select the check box for the product you are working with and click Specifications. The RFQ Product Specifications Response page displays. It lists all the specifications and values specified by the buyer.

  3. Click OK to return to the Percentage Pricing on Products or Fixed Pricing on Products page.

  4. With the check box for the product you are working with still selected, click Respond or Change. The Respond to Percentage Pricing on Product or Respond to Fixed Pricing on Product page displays.

  5. Depending on the type of product information to respond to, do one of the following steps:

    • To counter offer the product price based on a percentage markdown, on the type the Respond to Percentage Pricing on Product page, in the Price adjustment field, type the percentage you are willing to mark down for the price of the product. This value must be a number, for example, "10" indicates a 10% markdown on the original price of the product.

    • To counter offer the product price, quantity, or unit of quantity, on the Respond to Fixed Pricing on Product page, do the following under the Response section of this page:

      • To indicate the quantity of the product that you can supply to the buyer, type this in the Quantity field. This value must be a number, for example, "10". You may want to change the quantity if you are unable to provide the quantity requested for a product.

      • To indicate the units you use for the product, select this from the Units list. For example, to specify the quantity in terms of a unit other than that specified by the buyer, such as by "meter" instead of by "foot", select the units from this list.

      • To counter offer the product price you are willing to sell the product, based on a fixed amount, type this in the Price field.

  6. Click OK to save the changes and return to the Percentage Pricing on Products or Fixed Pricing on Products page.

  7. Optional: Substitute a product in an RFQ response. For example, a buyer may request 25 units of a particular computer, and you only have 20 in stock. You may want to suggest the buyer purchase a similar computer.
