Catalog creation and maintenance options
You have two options when working with the with catalogs to manage the categories, products, SKUs, kits, and bundles. Use the Product Management tools or the Catalog Filter.
Manage catalogs using the Product Management tools
For a master catalog, use the Product Management tools within the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to view the catalog entries in the store's master catalog, and add a fixed price adjustment to any product, SKU, kit, or bundle. For a newly created catalog, use these tools to edit all aspects of the catalog, including adding and removing catalog entries.
You can also use the Product Management dynamic table, which allows you to update the catalog entry information directly.
Filter catalogs using the Catalog Filter
You can access the Catalog Filter from within the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator. Use the Catalog Filter on consumer direct stores, B2B contracts, and hosting contracts. You can filter the catalog to a specific set of users and exclude any products in the master catalog that you do not want to sell at the store.
You can also use the Catalog Filter to apply a markup or markdown price by fixed or percentage price.
- Changing a price adjustment
A percentage price adjustment can only be changed on categories that already have a price adjustment applied to them.To apply a price adjustment to a category that does not a have a price adjustment applied to it, select the category to sell in the store. You can update the contract product and pricing terms and conditions without creating a new version of a contract by selecting Update Catalog Filter from the contracts list.
- View the storefront price for a product
The storefront price for a product is the price that a customer at a hosted reseller store sees for the product. This price takes into account any changes the reseller may have made to the price using the Product Management tools in the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator or any percentage price adjustments applied using the Catalog Filter.
