Remote widgets change flow options

The MadisonsEnhancements.sar store archive adds remote widgets features to the Madisons starter store. After you publish the MadisonsEnhancements.sar store archive, you can decide which features to enable. For example, if you want display the new and changed pages that demonstrate remote widgets for wish lists, enable the Wish list remote widgets option in WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

The following table summarizes the options:

Select:

  • Wish list features that customers can use in the store.

  • Additional remote widget and feed features that customers can use in the store.

Enable wish lists Customers can maintain, and optionally e-mail, wish lists. Yes
Single wish list Customers can create only a single wish list. Yes
Multiple wish lists Customers can create multiple wish lists with different names.

This option is required for Madisons to offer wish list remote widgets.

This option uses Web services. If the store has existing wish lists, those wish lists will no longer be visible or managed after you enable multiple wish lists.

Wish list remote widgets Customers can share their wish list as a widget on personal Web pages, such as blogs or social networks.

This option enables code to display a Share link on the Personal Wish List page. A store designer can create a remote widget to display when a customer clicks the Share link. Additional configuration on the store page is required for the Share link to display.

Gift registry remote widgets

This option is visible only if you publish the IBM Gift Center for Madisons sample add-on store archive.

Customers can share their gift registry as a widget on personal Web pages, such as blogs or social networks.

This option enables code to display a Share link on the Registered Products page. A store designer can create a remote widget to display when a customer clicks the Share link. Additional configuration on the store page is required for the Share link to display.

E-Marketing Spot remote widgets and feeds Customers can share e-Marketing Spot widgets and subscribe to e-Marketing Spot feeds.

This option enables code to display a Share link, and adds a Subscribe link to several e-Marketing Spots on store pages to demonstrate the feature. A marketing manager can create a remote widget to display when a customer clicks the Share link. Additional configuration on the store page is required for the Share link to display.
