Create a customer segment from Coremetrics
Overview
You can create a WCS customer segment based on data gathered from Coremetrics.
Before starting, confirm...
- WCS Accelerator ID belongs to a role that has permission to create a customer segment, such as a Marketing Manager.
- Coremetrics account is configured for use with WCS.
This includes making sure that the WCS pages are tagged appropriately and that Coremetrics is setup with the credentials of a WWCS ID that has been assigned to the Marketing Manager role.
- The password of the WCS ID provided to Coremetrics is encrypted.
To generate the encrypted password use the wcs_encrypt utility without the merchant key or -k parameters.
- WebSphere Commerce is running.

Send segment to Commerce
- A customer segment is created on the WCS Server with the data from the selected segment. The WCS customer segment is named as...
Name of report - Segment name - Date - Timestamp
- A message will be displayed that a segment is created.
- To verify if the new segment is created, open WCS Accelerator. In the Customer segment page, you should find the new segment that was created in Coremetrics based on the report name.
