Change a descriptive attribute

Descriptive attributes are attributes used to define additional information about a product, but not to resolve SKUs.

To change descriptive attribute information:

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Select Merchandise > Find Catalog Entries.

    Select Products > Find Catalog Entries.
    The Catalog Entry Search page displays. If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.

  3. Find the product.

  4. Select a field in the product row, and from the Actions menu, click Descriptive Attributes. A list of available descriptive attributes for the product displays.

  5. Click the field containing the information want to change. The background for the selected field is highlighted.

  6. Type the changed information. You can make the following changes:

    • Details tab: name, type, value.

      The attribute type cannot be changed.

    • Description tab: name, description, and sequence.

    • Custom tab: name, usage, image, and a customizable field.

  7. Click OK to save the changes.

If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator may need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
