Process: Order products (ConsumerDirect)
Flow
Objective
To allow the customer to add the desired product to the shopping cart; then complete the checkout process.
Description
After the customer finds a product of interest, they can add that product, or multiple products, to their shopping cart. Customers can then continue shopping, or check out the products that are in the shopping cart. In the checkout process, customers need to create a new shipping and billing address, or use existing ones. Customers also need to provide payment information before submitting the order for processing. The payment information is validated before the order is successfully submitted. A registered customer can also add products to their shopping cart from a wish list.
Features
- Discounts are automatically applied if the discount rule is satisfied.
- Registered customers can use a coupon promotion code for the order.
- Registered customers can use their quick checkout profile to check out an order without specifying a billing or shipping address.
- Multiple shipping addresses are supported.
Customization
These features may be enabled or disabled by using the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator:
- Allow a customer to ship a single order to multiple shipping addresses.
- Allow a customer to select multiple shipping methods for a single order.
- Allow a customer to create a quick checkout profile.
