Process: Marketplace operator
Flow
A marketplace operator is typically a larger buyer; who sets up a marketplace in order to host the supply chain. The marketplace operator recruits suppliers, and administers required business processes. For example, the marketplace operator may set up a catalog, and provide templates so that suppliers can set up hosted stores.
A buyer organization can use the private marketplace to source goods or services from the participating suppliers. The marketplace operator can purchase from a hosted supplier store; search for products at all available supplier stores; or create Requests For Quotes (RFQ) and negotiate contracts with one or more supplier stores.
