Objective
Create an announced product into the master and sales catalogs.
Description
Businesses often receive advance information from suppliers or manufacturers on new products being introduced but not yet available for sale. These announced products can be created in the master catalog and categorized into the sales catalog. Further, the product attributes and state may be set to show information such as announcement date and availability date.
Based on the product plan, the customer may provide custom display logic in JSP files to display or not to display announced products, display and allow advanced ordering of the product or other actions as determined by the product plan.
Features
- Specify announce, discontinue or withdrawal dates.
- Specify if a product is displayable or non-displayable.
- Specify if a product is buyable or non-buyable within a specified period of time.
Note that the Define display pages subprocess does not apply to the hosting and supply chain business models.
Customization
JSP files can contain logic to interpret product states and perform desired behavior, for example display a message that indicates that a product is announced an is not yet available for purchase.
