Communities widgets

As a community owner, we can add widgets to the community to make different types of functionality available to members.
The following IBM Connections widgets are available to add to communities.

To add a Connections application widget to the community, the corresponding application must be installed in the deployment.

For the widgets in all the Connections applications to load properly in Microsoft Internet Explorer, ActiveX Controls must be enabled on the Security tab. To access the Security tab, select Tools > Internet Options > Security.

Widget Description
Activities Allow community owners to create activities for sharing resources, assigning tasks, and organizing meetings with community members. A community can have multiple activities.
This is an optional widget.
Blog Create a blog for the use of community members. A community can have only one blog.
This is an optional widget.
Bookmarks Enable community members to post relevant bookmarks to the community.
This widget is added to every community by default, but it can be removed if it is not needed.
Chat Rooms Allow community owners to create chat rooms, where community members can chat, enter, and leave, and see what was discussed in their absence. A community can have multiple chat rooms.
This is an optional widget that can be downloaded from IBM Greenhouse.
Events Lets community members schedule community events and share information about them.
This is an optional widget.
Feeds Enable community members to subscribe to feeds that are of interest to the community, directly from the community.
This is an optional widget.
Files Allow community members to upload and share files and folders.
This widget is added to every community by default, but it can be removed if it is not needed.
Forums Enable community owners to create forums where members can ask questions and discuss topics that are relevant to the community.
This widget is added to every community by default, but it can be removed if it is not needed.
Ideation Blog Create a central blog space where members can post ideas and vote on other people's ideas.
This is an optional widget.
Library Create a community library where members can upload and collaborate on documents.
This is an optional widget.
Linked Library Links from a community to an existing document repository on an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) server, allowing members to upload and collaborate on documents in the linked repository.
This is an optional widget.
Linked Quickr Library Links to an existing IBM Lotus Quickr library from a community.
This is an optional widget that can be downloaded from the IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog.
Gallery Allow community members to showcase community files. The gallery supports many file types, for example: images, videos, and office files.
This is an optional widget.
Meeting Rooms Allow community owners to create meeting rooms, where community members can meet, discuss, and share files or their screen. A community can have multiple meeting rooms.
This is an optional widget that can be downloaded from IBM Greenhouse.
Members Display the existing membership of the community.
This widget is added to every community by default and it cannot be removed.
Quickr Library Create an IBM Lotus Quickr place with a library, and displays updates from that library in the community.
This is an optional widget that can be downloaded from the IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog.
Recent Updates Lets community members keep up-to-date on the latest news stories and status updates on the community.
This widget is added to every community by default, and it cannot be removed.
Related Communities Lets you link to other communities that might be doing work that interests the community.
This is an optional widget.
SharePoint Allow community members to access and manage files stored in Microsoft SharePoint directly from the community.
This is an optional widget that can be downloaded from the IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog.
Status Updates Lets you post messages to the community and view posts by community members.
This widget is added to every new community by default, and it can be removed if it is not needed.
Subcommunities Allow members to see the subcommunities contained in the parent community and navigate easily to them.
This is an optional widget.
Wiki Create a community wiki where community members can share information and resources with fellow members, and collaborate on projects.
