How do I work with folders?
We can add, rename, share, and delete folders in community libraries. To move folders, we must do so from the IBM FileNet user interface.
Permissions for working with folders in community libraries are controlled using community membership settings. Permissions for working with folders in linked libraries are set on the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) server.
We can work with library folders in the following ways.
The following instructions describe how to work with folders in the compact display option. To toggle between the compact and descriptive page option, click the Display icons.
- To create a folder, open the library or folder to add the new folder and click New Folder. Then type a name and description.
- To rename a folder, click the down arrow next to the folder name, select Edit Properties, enter a new name in the Folder name field, and then click OK.
- To share a folder, click the down arrow next to the folder name, and then select Share. See Share library files and folders.
- To delete a folder, click the down arrow next to the folder name, select Delete, and then click OK.
When Trash view functionality is available and you delete a folder, the files in the folder are moved to the Trash view, where you have the option of restoring them or deleting them permanently. The folder and any subfolders are removed permanently. If Trash view functionality is not supported, the folder and all the files it contains are deleted permanently. For more information about the Trash view, see Work with deleted files.
