Disable policies from policy sets using the administrative console
We can have policies listed in a policy set in the enabled state so that they are currently included in the policy set. We can disable a policy from being included in a policy set without deleting it from the policy set. We might want to do this if we want the policy included in the policy set in the future. Use the administrative console to change this setting.
To disable a policy for a policy set, be sure the policy is listed in the policy set and shown in the Enabled state in the State column of the Policies table on the Policy set settings page. If the policy is not listed, it might have been deleted and we must add it again and then disable it.
We can disable a policy in a policy set, from the menu of the administrative console.
Tasks
- Click Services > Policy sets > Application policy sets >policy_set_name or Services > Policy sets > System policy sets >policy_set_name. Clicking a policy set name from the listing in the policy sets collection opens the Policy set settings panel for that policy set. This panel displays a listing of available and enabled policies in the Policies table for the policy set we selected. If this table contains no policies, there are no existing policies to disable.
- Click theSelect box for the enabled policy to be disabled. We can select multiple policies to disable more than one.
- Click Disable. The State column of the Policies table is updated to display the selected policy as disabled. The policy was not deleted from the policy set and is still available to be enabled.
We have disabled a policy for the selected policy set.
