Configure IBM HTTP Server for IBM i
Configure IBM HTTP Server for IBM i before using the web server with WebSphere Application Server for IBM i.
This article assumes that we have decided to use the IBM HTTP Server for IBM i to serve requests to WebSphere. Configure an HTTP server instance on IBM i and the Select a web server topology diagram and roadmap article describe the HTTP servers available to WebSphere users.
An HTTP server instance is not required to install WAS. However, IBM recommends to support requests for servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSP) resources managed by WAS.
Before we can use the IBM HTTP Server for IBM i, configure an instance of IBM HTTP Server to communicate with WAS.
Tasks
- Start the *ADMIN server instance of IBM HTTP Server to use the IBM HTTP Server for IBM i configuration and administration forms.

- Create an HTTP server instance or select an existing instance, and configure it to work with WAS.
