Use the utilities disk to migrate product configurations

The WAS V6.1 utilities disk can be used to run the WASPreUpgrade command against an existing V5.x or 6.0.x environment. See Overview of migration, coexistence, and interoperability and Premigration considerations.

Procedure

Use it for migration involving operating systems that are not supported by WAS V6.1.

  1. Run the WASPreUpgrade command on the utilities disk against the existing WAS version on the existing operating-system level.

    • Migration backup directory.

    • Name of the installation root directory for the current WAS V5.x or 6.0.x installation.

    See WASPreUpgrade command.

  2. Upgrade the operating system.

  3. Install WAS V6.1.

Do not use the migration option when you install it.

  4. Run the WASPostUpgrade command manually.

    See WASPostUpgrade command.
