Product selection

The Installation Factory console starts the Product Selection wizard when you create a new build definition file. The Product Selection wizard provides several panels for selecting the required product, edition, and package.

To view these product selection wizard panels, click New Build Definition in the IBM Installation Factory console.

Products

Specify the WAS product that you intend to install.

For example, choose IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1.0 from the list in the Products field.

Click Next.

Edition selection

Specify the WAS product edition that you intend to install. You may choose from the following:

Base

WAS

Express

WAS - Express

ND

WAS ND

Trial Base

Trial edition of WAS

Trial Express

Trial edition of WAS - Express

Click Next.

Package selection

Specify the WAS package that you intend to install. The installation image for any of the WAS product offerings has four installable components for most operating systems:

 

• WAS

• Application Client

• IBM HTTP Server

• Web server plug-ins for WAS

At this time, the only package of the four that the Installation Factory supports is the WAS package. Select WebSphere Application Server and click Finish to complete the Product Selection wizard
