  1. Determine if WebSphere Portal data should be transferred to another supported database.

  2. Ensure the database you plan to use is supported by WebSphere Portal v6.0.

    Although not required for a non-cluster installation, IBM recommends you switch to a database other than Cloudscape.

    If performing a cluster installation, switch to another database.

  3. Disable WAS global security

  4. Configure the database user registry

  5. Verify the connection between WebSphere Portal and Member Manager.

  6. If necessary, troubleshoot
