Set up annotations

This topic lists the steps we need to take to set up annotations for a project.

Setting up the sample application automatically sets up annotations for the project. Follow these steps to configure annotations for a project of your own.

  1. Create and deploy a WebSphere Portlet Factory project.

The following feature set is required for annotations:

    WebSphere Dashboard Framework

    • Dashboard Framework

To add alerting to annotations, also include these feature sets: Dojo Ajax

    • Dojo Extension

    WebSphere Dashboard Framework

    • Alerts Module

  2. Create models in the project and add annotations.

  3. If you added the alerting feature sets to the project, create another project for the Alerts Scheduler feature set.

  4. Select and configure a persistence manager.

  5. If you selected a database persistence manager, set up the database. (A Cloudscape database is not supported.)

  6. Override default configuration properties.

  7. Configure pages to launch as portlets on the server.

  8. To enable alerting for annotations, modify the predefined annotation alert definition.

  9. Test your configuration settings.
