Operations and control panels

When using the operations and control panels, the WebSphere MQ libraries you use in ISPF must be compatible with those of the queue manager you are working with.

Table 78. Compatibility of queue manager versions with operations and control panels versions
Panel level V5.3.1 queue manager V5.3 queue manager V5.2 queue manager V2.1 queue manager or earlier
V5.3.1 X X X with restrictions and warnings -
V5.3 X with warning X X with restrictions and warnings -
V5.2 X with restrictions X with restrictions X -
V2.1 - - - X if same level

The panels at V5.3.1 level work with V5.3.1 and V5.3 queue managers. They also work, with some restrictions, with V5.2 queue managers, or with a queue-sharing group containing a mixture of queue managers. If you are using the panels with a V5.2 queue manager, messages warn you about the restrictions. The V5.3.1 panels do not work with other levels of queue manager. Panels at the V5.3 level work as for Version 5.3.1; if they are used with a V5.3.1 queue manager they will give a warning, which can be ignored. Panels at the V5.2 level work with V5.2 queue managers, and with V5.3.1 and V5.3 queue managers with some restrictions (but no warnings), but they do not work with other levels of queue manager. Panels at levels other than V5.3.1, Version 5.3, or V5.2 work only with the same levels of queue manager; that is, V2.1 panels work only with a V2.1 queue manager, and so on. This is summarized in Table 78.
