Use Microsoft Outlook with Connections
The IBM Connections plug-in for Microsoft™ Office and Microsoft Windows™ integrates IBM Connections with your Microsoft Outlook client. It lets you add content from Outlook into Activities, lets you search the IBM Connections applications, and allows you to select a name and get directory information in the form of a business card. Before you use the IBM Connections feature, configure the services so that you can access the servers for the IBM Connections applications you plan to use. For example, to post content to an activity supply the URL for an activity server that you can access. You must also supply the user name and password that you use for IBM Connections. If you do not have this information, see your IBM Connections administrator.
After you are configured, you can:
- Show the business card for Connections people that send you email.
- Add an email message to an activity as an entry or as a to do.
- Create an email and search Connections Profiles for contact data you can insert in the TO, CC or BCC field.
Additionally, if you are using the Microsoft Outlook Social Connector, version 1.1 or higher, you can interact with your Connections network from your Outlook client.
