Manage custom library widgets
Add custom libraries to IBM Connections communities to work with documents and folders on Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems, IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Content Manager. For example, when you add a new document to a custom library you are adding the document to the ECM server. This section describes how to configure IBM Lotus Connections with the following ECM systems:
- FileNet P8 4.5.1 or later
- IBM DB2 Content manager V8.4.2 or later
For custom libraries to work install the following services:
- On IBM FileNet systems, install IBM FileNet Services for Lotus Quickr. See the topic "Planning, Installing, and Configuring IBM FileNet Services for Lotus Quickr"
in the IBM FileNet P8 information center.
- On IBM Content Manager systems, install IBM Content Manager Services for Lotus Quickr. See the topic "Planning, Installing, and Configuring IBM Content Manager Services for Lotus Quickr"
in the IBM Content Management information center. Also see the IBM Content Manager Services for Lotus Quickr Version 1 Release 1 software and hardware requirements
.
Note: The rest of the topics of this section describe configuration steps for the Connections server only. For documentation on installing and configuring the ECM systems, see the Related reference links at the bottom of this topic.
Enable custom libraries
Enable custom libraries in IBM Connections so that community owners can add custom library widgets to their communities.Configure single sign-on with ECM servers
Configure single sign-on between IBM Connections and ECM servers. With single sign-on enabled, users won't need to log in to IBM Connections and the ECM server separately; logging in to IBM Connections will also give them access to the ECM server.Enable custom library views
Views are queries that return a list of documents. Views are defined and managed on the ECM server. You can make views available to custom library widget users.Disable profiles in custom libraries
You might want to disable profiles in custom libraries in environments where many users do not have email addresses, or where many ECM email addresses do not match profiles email addresses.
