Create a profile in the configuration file system

After you create and populate the configuration file system, run the customized job to create the default WebSphere Application Server profile.

For your selected profile, you can follow the instructions that are available in the Customization Instructions view in pmt.sh perspective, in the relevant HTML file in the customization location, or in the CNTL data set.

Procedure

  1. To create a profile in the configuration file system, submit the following job:

    • BBOWWPFA for a stand-alone server
    • BBOWWPFD for a dmgr
    • BBOWWPFM for an empty managed node

  2. Review the job output to verify that the job ran without error.

Results

The configuration files for the node are now available in the configuration file system, and are stored in the following directory structure under the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS profiles directory: WAS_HOME/profiles/default. The subdirectory named default, within the profiles directory, contains all of the directories and files that are specific to the server, including the server and First Failure Data Capture (FFDC) logs.

In WebSphere Application Server for z/OS, all runtime environments are created using a profile name of default.
