Create a DB2JccConfiguration.properties file

You might require a DB2JccConfiguration.properties file to help establish a connection between your data source and the DB2 for z/OS database. If the DB2 subsystem ID (SSID) is not already specified in the DSNHDECP module, you can identify the DB2 subsystem to which you want to connect by creating a DB2JccConfiguration.properties file with the relevant setting.

Procedure

  1. To provide WebSphere Application Server with information about the DB2 subsystem, create a DB2JccConfiguration.properties file as a plain text file in a suitable directory.

    For example /etc/db2cfg/directory.

  2. Set the permissions on the directory so that the WebSphere Controller Region user ID and the user ID that runs the IBM BPM augmentation job can read the properties file.

  3. Add the following line to the DB2JccConfiguration.properties file to specify the DB2 SSID:
    db2.jcc.ssid= SSID_value

    where SSID_value is the subsystem ID of the DB2 system to which your IBM BPM cell will connect; for example, DB15.

    For further details about the DB2JccConfiguration.properties file, see the DB2 for z/OS Application Programming Guide and Reference for Java™ at http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27011656 (Version 9) and http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27019288 (Version 10).

  4. Save the file.

What to do next

Make a note of the fully qualified file name of the DB2JccConfiguration.properties file because you will need to specify this name and path in the augmentation response file that provides input to the augmentation job.
