Including an integrated inbox in a Process Portal space

An integrated inbox displays a combined list of IBM BPM tasks and IBM Case Manager work items in one widget.

You must :

To provide an integrated inbox, you create a Process Portal space that includes the Inbox widget. To create the space, you can use the Integrated Inbox template. Alternatively you can create the space manually and wire the Inbox widget so that when an IBM BPM task is selected, a page containing the Task Information widget opens. When an IBM Case Manager work item is selected, the corresponding Solution Space needs to open in a new browser window.


Procedure

  1. In a Process Portal space, create a page and add the following widgets to it.

    • The Inbox and Task Filter widgets from the Human Task Management category

    • The Page Navigator widget from the Wiring category

    • The Connector for IBM BPM widget from the Case Widgets category

  2. Wire the Inbox widget for IBM BPM tasks.

    1. Wire the Action Requested event for the Inbox widget to the Action Requested event for the Task Filter widget.
    2. Wire the Action Requested event for the Task Filter widget to the Trigger Page Navigation event for the Page Navigator widget.
    3. Hide the Task Filter widget.
  3. Wire the Inbox widget for IBM Case Manager work items.

    1. Wire the Action Requested event for the Inbox widget to the Action Requested event for the Connector for IBM BPM widget.
    2. Hide the Connector for IBM BPM widget.

  4. Create a page for working with IBM BPM tasks.

    1. Add the Task Information, Task Filter, and Page Navigator widgets to the page.
    2. Wire the widgets together.

      • Wire the Tab Changed event for the Task Information widget to the Tab Changed event for the Task Filter widget.
      • Wire the Tab Changed event for the Task Filter widget to the Trigger Page Navigation event for the Page Navigator widget.

    3. Configure the Page Navigator widget to switch back to the page containing the Inbox widget when a task is completed. Click Edit Settings, then set the following values for the fields:

      • Set the action to Switch Page.

      • Select the space and page that contain the Inbox widget.

    4. Hide the Task Filter and Page Navigator widgets.
  5. Return to the page that contains the Inbox widget and configure the Page Navigator widget to switch to the page containing the Task Information widget when a task is selected. Click Edit Settings, then set the following values for the fields:

    • Set the action to Switch Page.

    • Select the space and page that contain the Task Information widget.
    • Set the target event to Action requested.

    After you complete the configuration, hide the Page Navigator widget.

  6. Configure the Inbox widget for your user group.
